Drum n Bounce – Athon – A drum n bass fitness fundraiser for Birmingham Mind
Next month, at the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, Emma will be teaching all 10 Dnb routines b2b in Birmingham’s Bullring raising money for Birmingham Mind.
Each routine is 30 minutes long so that’s 5 hours of dance fitness. (There will be little breaks, of course)
Here’s how to get involved
- Join in the challenge and get sponsored either as an individual, as a pair or as a team (then you can tag in and out)
- Come along, join however much you like and make a donation
- Top up your own mental health through the music and social connection
Alternatively if you just want to make a donation to the cause and support the amazing work Birmingham Mind do in our community then please do.
FAQs
Drum n Bounce is suitable for a range of fitness levels. Whilst there is set choreography, there are always variations and adaptations for you to choose from.
Freestyling is also encouraged so you can move in whatever way feels good for you.
Take a break whenever you like and know that dnb is designed to help increase your fitness and wellbeing one dance step at a time.
Yes, there are low impact and high impact options so you can decide which moves feel right for you on that day. We encourage listening to your own body and only working as hard as you feel comfortable with.
Not at all, it’s not about getting the moves right, the emphasis is having fun and exercising to the music.
The warm ups and routines are taught in a way that builds up the moves, if you prefer, you can just focus on the leg patterns and leave the arm moves for another time.
The vibe is Drum & Bass, however the warm ups and cool downs include a variety of dance music, such as House and Garage. For the stretch section of class its normally something nice and chilled.
